Thank you to Theodore and Elika from 5AB for their delightful report on Athletics Day.
Every year, many children at Kew PS tend to get excited when they hear the words Athletics Day and this year was no different! There was much fear that the weather would interfere but luckily for us, the sun shone for most of the day. Continue reading
The first major sporting event at Kew PS in 2018 was the annual House Swimming Carnival. It was fantastic to see everyone in their house colours whilst cheering, chanting and supporting each other. Throughout the day the performances in the pool accurately reflected the schools motto ‘Be Worthy’ as everyone put 100% into every event they were competing in. Continue reading
At Hays Paddock on the 25th May eight schools competed at the Kew District Cross Country. It was a calm, cool day with no rain, prefect conditions for running. This event was a great celebration of endurance running and sportsmanship. All competitors shook hands at the start of the race and wished their rival runners all the best for the run.
Parents from all schools were dotted around the course at checkpoints. This ensured that the runners were safe and cross country rules are enforced. The parents cheered all the competitors along, which I am sure helped spur on a few runners through some tough moments of their race. We could not have asked for a better day for last week’s House Cross Country meet. I’m not asking you to vomit but work hard.” (Excellent advice – I’ll remember this next time I go out for yum cha).
Over to Clare Connor for the results –
What a sensational sunny day for our Cross Country at Hays Paddock on Tuesday 19th April. As the year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students entered the main entrance, the oval was soon filled with colour and excited cheers. Continue reading
We’ve watched our oval take its new shape over the past few months. James Penson tells the story in full –
You may have noticed that across the other side of the globe, there has been much talk about who will win the race into the Oval Office. However much closer to home, there has been even more talk and excitement about our own oval! Continue reading
Ben Hur, the Royal Wedding, a Broadway production of The Lion King… putting on those shows is a cinch compared to the annual Kew Primary School Bike Education Celebration Ride. It’s a day of epic proportions – huge achievements, big hills, a massive barbeque lunch and loads of helpers – a lot of sweat, peddle-power, high-vis vests and sausages goes into making the day a success.
